A series of portraits of faces I had never seen. I didn't want, and perhaps couldn't, create traditional portraits requiring people to pose in front of me. This way, I feel the spontaneity, same as in street photography where the captured scenes unfold without prearrangement. Here, I let the canvas and daylight draw with me.
While the figures retain recognizable features like noses and lips, their appearance may suggest they belong to an era and place I've never experienced. My primary focus centers on the head, I start with it, while the bodies take on a fluid and unrestrained form.
